Grandma Chic with Fossil Q
Now that the weather is heading towards frigid, it’s getting a bit harder to dress sexy. The large comfy sweaters have come out, along with the slouchy jeans and huge jackets. To be honest, I’ve been reveling in dressing like a grandma because (1) I’m warm and (2) I’m comfortable.
This lace up sweater became super popular last year, thanks to Isabel Marant, and now you can find a version of it in basically any online retailer. I found my version at Zara, but you can find it almost anywhere (and I’ve linked some below).
I paired it with my NEW FAVE FALL LOOK which is basically metallic pleated skirts. I am SO IN LOVE with this look. This skirt, especially, is a dream. It’s a dream to shoot (look how the light bounces off of it), a dream to wear (so light and airy) and just a dream to look at (that vibrant red!). Most of all, you can rock this with a billion tights underneath to keep warm and, for when it gets colder, pair with boots!
I call this look “Grandma Chic”, because it’s just a little bit frumpy but that color really draws your eye. And with it, I kept my accessories minimal except for my new watch from Fossil, the Fossil Q Smartwatch.
This is actually the second smartwatch I own. I had the Apple Watch but. . .I kind of hated the band on it and I wasn’t a huge fan of the square face. The square face felt so masculine and I already have a bony wrist. When I received the Fossil Q, I loved that the face was round and the band was a neutral color (not a rubberized black!) that could go with everything. It also does everything I need my smartwatch to do, which is give me the weather/texts/emails. That’s all I really need and it even has extras like a speaker/activity tracking/music control.
I’ve been wearing it almost non-stop since I got it, switching it out with my red leather Larsson & Jennings watch if I want to add in some color. I love that more companies are getting into the smartwatch game, if only so that I don’t have to drop another $600 at Apple. These watches are way more affordable, ranging at around $270. And it comes at the perfect time, because gift-giving season is coming up and now I know what to get for some of my friends!
Tell me, what watch do you own AND really. . .on a scale of 1-10, 1 being not grandma-y enough and 10 being your great great grandma Ruth, just how Grandma Chic are you?
